Prateek Gupta

Prateek didn’t set out to become a designer. With a medical background and no carefully mapped career plan, he found his way into design almost by accident. 15 years later, that unexpected turn has become a career shaped by curiosity, people, and the stories behind the work.

He began in an era when Adobe Flash powered digital experiences and CorelDRAW was a familiar tool. Today, he works in a world being reshaped by AI. Across those changes, one thread has stayed constant: understanding people, both the ones using a product and the ones building it.

His journey has taken him across India and through companies including Flipkart, Rapido, athenahealth, OpenText, Dream11, and Games24x7, as well as startups such as SecuEra and EmpowerLabs. Along the way, he has inherited teams, built others from scratch, and navigated the different challenges each brings.

He calls himself an “accidental designer.” The Work Between Us draws on the less accidental work that followed: learning how to lead, earn trust, and help people grow. It’s a book shaped by 15 years of experience and an invitation to learn from the experiences of others.
